The new airport of Medan , Kuala Namu is located far away from Bukit Lawang. You can book taxi or other public service. For an air con car, you can book for 40 pound sterling in one way only. Also, you can take bus from airport to Binjai city and it costs Rp 30.000. However, it is not the end of your journey since you need to take a mini bus for Rp 18.000. However, you can ride a bus from Medan where you can find it easily in every 15 minutes. The bus is called DAMRI located on Jl. From Kampung Lalang that is located about 8 km from the center of Medan. Actually, it will leave from Pinang Baris which is the closer bus station and the driver will take you there but you need someone that lives in that area to guide you for catching a bus from the outside of Mawar Bakery. To get there, you may ride taxi with Argo meter and non Argo. However, non Argo is more expensive since the driver will tell you the amount based on his own. But if you join Bukit Lawang Jungle tour, you may not feel difficult to go to Bukit Lawang since the driver will pick you up at the hotel but Note: the schedule is indicative only, some different schedules may apply due to weather conditions (in the rainy season we may ask you to make an earlier start, but it is not essential as we can continue even in heavy rain) and the characteristics of the group (e.g we can make the trek longer or shorter according to your physical condition)
